Photo Overlay Clarification

Question on GLPA photo requirements. I know that promotional overlays and watermarks are not allowed but since I sell many multi packs ( with actual photos of each item) can I use small numbers besides each item so that customers can easily identify each item they want to purchase?

Hi, Yes I think this is allowed, though discouraged. I have had cases where my client had to mention technical description next to a product in images and it was approved.

Thank you. My ads are managed by Etsy and they are giving me the run around about this. I have read every line of the image rules and no condition applies to product numbering.

The client I am talking about here was selling piston rings online and since they all look the same we had to put the diameter information in the image. It worked just fine and no ads were disapproved.

these sound like two different scenarios.

adding a diameter to a single, exact, photo of a single product,
is rather different than submitting many multi-packs with small
numbers aside the appropriate item-offer in the image.

the image-quality rules have multiple policies --
promotional elements on the product image and
more than one product shown in the image, are
two separate policy violations.

the image submitted must show the product with a view
that clearly represents the single item-offer being sold.

only one product may be shown, unless multiple items are sold as a bundle --
in which case, the image must show everything included in the bundled-offer.

google is the final arbiter of all submitted images --
marketplaces such as etsy are responsible for all
polices with respect to individual sellers.

It's the same product but available in 9 colors. So nine photos are shown in the collage. That I believe is allowed because the same type are all over Google.
