Hi,

Google crawler returns 404 for some of exsisting pages. Why would that be?

Here're examples of pages:

http://www.equipatron.com/Briggs-&-Stratton-791082-Air-Cleaner-Cover-Replaces--790633.html

http://www.equipatron.com/oregon-68-133-410350-5-slick-tubeless-tire-4-ply.html

http://www.equipatron.com/oregon-55-189-primer-bulb-replaces-188-509.html

Note: "Fetch as Google" was able to crawl all pages successfully,as well as Screaming Frog

See data quality error screen shot :

Thank you,

Olga

the web-server must respond properly to all

googlebot and googlebot-image requests,

at all times.

sometimes, simply waiting 72-hours after another

successful data-feed re-upload is all that's needed --

be certain that no id values never ever change.

the data-quality errors are usually only examples (samples) --

so the full scope of the issue may be much more extensive.

check the server's log file against the time of google's crawls

for any crawl requests and any (error or warning) messages.

those images may be too large for the server or network (bandwidth)

to accommodate all google's crawl requests; for one or two items try

submitting a smaller image size (usually around 300x300 pixels or so)

with a different image_link url pointing to the smaller (jpg) image file.

also, depending on the type of feed some

link and image_link url characters may need

to be escaped.

the samples look to be improperly escaped -- what would help

is to have the exact data that is being submitted and the exact

name of the registered data-feed file (.xml or .txt)

also, regardless of what might seem well  or might have worked

in the past (or until the issue is resolved) try adding the following

nine records (lines) to the very end of the site's controlling robots.txt

Hello Olga,

I would not say too much, But sometimes this happens because of short duration server outage. For invalid image error check with their size. Try using small thumbnail URL-
Example-
http://www.nvspharmacy.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/135x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d...

And use Google spreadsheet instead of uploading txt files, It has worked many time for me Smiley Happy

Thank for posting this great question Smiley Happy

thumbnail images are not allowed --
https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494

a reduction to about 300x300 pixels or so should verify
any server issue and still stay within the bounds of an
allowed image size.

Ok, I use small image URLs downloaded from magento admin, and it works. In my previous reply I have given an example (image URL) that I am using in my data-feed and its causing no problem!!

understood and thank you for the clarification.

unfortunately, being used in a data-feed without error
does not necessarily indicate there is no problem --
google may disapprove an item or feed or suspend
a website or account, at any time.

the current polices simply state --
"Do not scale up images or submit thumbnails."

Hi

Apart from above replies i would also like to bring to your notice that your non www pages like

http://equipatron.com/Briggs-&-Stratton-791082-Air-Cleaner-Cover-Replaces--790633.html

are being 301 redirected to your home page.

So make sure your URLs in feed are with www and either way you should fix that redirection from your htaccess for better organic results.

Also you can try fetch as google for your 404 URLs to check this issue
