PLA feed disaproved due to a redirect

Hi,

I've go a very strange problem and was hoping I could get some help or advice.

My client's feed has been disaproved because they have a redirect on the site so that the currency shown reflects the currency of the country where they are searching from. So for example if someone is searching from America, the website will change the pricing to American dollars and if someone is searching from India, the webiste will change the currency to Indian Rupees.

Google said that my feed got disaproved because even though the feed/PLA campaign is only targetiing the UK market and therefore having GBP as the currency in the feed should be ok, when the feed approvals team in India check the feed, the website shows the currency as Indian rupees on the website and not as english pounds. Therefore the approvals team have disaproved the feed on the basis that the currency on the feed doesn't match the currency on the website.

The only workaround that Google were able to give me was to switch off the redirect temporarily until the feed has been approved and then switch it back on again after the aproval process but I'm sure that the feed gets checked on a regular basis so it would just get disaproved again some time in the future.

Has anyone else had this problem? It'd be great to read how other people have tackled this problem.

Thanks

the website link landing-page details, including price and currency,
must respond and display exactly identically -- regardless of where
a person is physically located and regardless of device, ip, browser,
or any other user-specific detail whatsoever -- and is otherwise a
policy violation and grounds for disapproval or a suspension from
the program, at any time.

the submitted (feed) data must match the landing-page,
at all times, for all users, regardless of location -- pop-ups
and redirects are generally not allowed.

two typical solutions are to use url-parameters or separate sub-directory
to keep the link landing-page uniform, regardless of any user detail; e.g.
http://www.example.com/products/toys/wagon?country=uk&color=red
http://www.example.com/uk/products/toys/wagon?color=red

Hi Celebird,

Thanks for the advice. I'll pass this onto my client and hope that their web team can get this implemented.
