If you do not have a barcode on your products. Do not submit Brand, MPN or GTIN. In other words, leave it blank or do not submit it.

Than submit identifier exists with the value  no

Hi Emmanuel F,

To help identify your products without a GTIN, you can use the mpn and brand attributes. An MPN, or Manufacturer Part Number, is a UPI for specific parts assigned by the manufacturer. The brand attribute allows you to use the brand of your product as a UPI - source - https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161?hl=en-GB

Thanks!

If you click on the below link, it states the following :

  • Submit any other relevant unique product identifiers. You might be required to submit the gtin and mpn attribute. When you submit these product identifiers, we can better understand what you're selling. When we understand what you're selling, we can help connect users to your ads and make those ads richer. Learn more about product identifier attributes.

So in your case, you are required to submit a GTIN. As you can not submit the GTIN than you need to do as mentioned in my first reply.

Hope it helps.

Hi @Emmannuel F,

First of all sorry for my last statement, I don't have any intention to hurt you and don't know how I have written such words. Anyways...I have removed that line.

Thanks for you help and reply. So finally you mean I should remove MPN and Brand too for such products which don't have GTIN & submit identifier exists with the value  no correct?

Thanks,

Mitesh

Don't worry, with the complex policies, requirements and how things are written it is easy to assume someone is wrong or is not stating what sounds logical. So don't worry I'm here to help.

Yes remove MPN and Brand for the products that you have not registered a bar code for

Than assign identifier exists to these products with the value no

Which essentially tells Google that the products don't have any product identifiers.

Hope it helps.

Hi @Emmanuel F,

Can you please do favor? Can you please share google link which shows that "

Yes remove MPN and Brand for the products that you have not registered a bar code for

Than assign identifier exists to these products with the value no"

Reason how can I Justify my client above words? Every where in google support doc's I can see following things -

Some products don’t have a GTIN assigned, and so you don’t need to submit one. However, if the product does have a GTIN assigned and you don’t submit it, then the product could be disapproved.

For these products, submit the following attributes : Brand and MPN

source - https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161

Actually I don't have GTIN reason it is my own brand but I do have brand name and MPN for products.

So what you said once you show link as proof I will be thankful to you.

Regards,

Mitesh

Hi @Emmanuel F,

As per google guide -

If your product is new (which you submit through the condition attribute) and it doesn’t have a gtin and brand or mpn and brand then submit identifier_exists with a value of no.

But in my case I do have brand and MPN still you want me to remove?

Thanks!
