One seller with a Google Shopping campaign and ebay store

Hi all,

Couple of questions.

1) If an advertiser sets up an ebay shop selling the same products as her existing Google Shopping campaign, will ebay automatically submit the products to Google Shopping?

2) And if so, would Google then classify that as a double serving violation, due to the AdWords advertiser's products and her ebay store's products both displaying at the same time?

(1) each marketplace is different; ebay likely has their own internal criteria
for what products may be submitted as a shopping-ad and what will not --

likely based on a variety of factors and individual-seller account-settings.

the only likely way to say for certain is to ask ebay-support directly.

(2) yes.

however, such a violation is now more under the abuse of the (ad) network,
gaining an unfair advantage, duplicate-listings, or duplicate-content, related

shopping-ad rules and policies.

there is no longer a double-serving violation per se.

Thanks for the information Celebird. I've seen a few instances of these kind of duplicate listings from competitors, so I presume Google is only likely to act if one of us brings it to their attention?

We always tell our clients that we won't make a shopping campaign for them if they have also an eBay store. While double-serving could be slightly more profitable, the risk of losing your account makes it not worth it.
