New and lost... HELP :)

Hi, I am new and wanting to have the products of my website showing in google shop. So I followed the video on you tube to setup a data feed, I downloaded the xml, added my information for 16 products of the website.

Then I went to google merchant and clicked on 'feed' added feed details

where am I supposed to upload the xml I created?

I am so confused..

Anyways, I went ahead to see what happens, linked the account with ad words, and created a campaign for the 16 products.

But no clue what to do, the products are not showing (and I am not surprised ) but how do I make it work?

Is what I did the correct procedure to have my products in google shop (tab)?

Any help or recommended material or videos will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

typically, a spreadsheet is used to
submit a .txt tab-delimited feed --
not xml.

details and a video that help simplify
the instructions are currently here --
https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160569
https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160588

https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/1344057

after the .txt tab-delimited feed file is submitted,

check the feeds-tab within the merchant-center

for any issues.

the items should be seen within the products-tab

of the merchant-center with an updated status,

about 72-hours after the feed is successfully

processed and reviewed.

otherwise, check the diagnostics-tab

in the merchant-center -- for any issues

related to the items, website, or policies.

if there are no errors, google has crawled all images

and the website with no issues, and there are no policy

violations detected then, items (with a searchable status)

should be seen within the linked shopping-campaign,

in about 72 hours or so.

product-groups are then created within the linked

shopping-campaign -- to bid on groups of items:

https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3455481

results in the google-shopping (product-listing-ad) auctions are

then determined by the bid and the quality of all data submitted.

otherwise, a merchant-center product-listing-ads
support-specialist at google may be contacted
directly for help and guidance:
https://support.google.com/merchants/contactflow

that said, if a marketplace such as etsy, ebay, etc.,
is already submitting inventory items then, the
same similar inventory items could not also be
submitted via a private-website -- that would
usually be a violation of the unfair-advantage
policies -- and grounds for a disapproval or a
suspension from the program, at any time.

Thank you, I did manage to do this indeed, I realized I had to fill it up online. Anyways, I applied the changed you provided me in my previous message and now I am getting:

fetch errors 1
Get file entries failed.1
Failed to obtain the file listing. Please make sure the files exist AND that your feed has permission to access them.

and
fetch warning s1
Get file entries failed.1
Failed to obtain the file listing. Please make sure the files exist AND that your feed has permission to access them.

I will appreciate very much your comments, thanks

and do you mean if the same item is also listed on etsy I can not promote it myself if the same product is listed on my website?

Thanks

first, you're welcome.

(1) if a google-sheet is being used as
the registered feed and spreadsheet --
as opposed to excel or similar program --
then, permission must be given to access the sheet --
typically, simply change sharing to: anyone with the link:
https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2494886
then, simply re-fetch the feed.

(2) the policies simply indicate that the content must be varied --
generally, this means the same or similar physical inventory items
are not allowed to be listed from more than one website from the
same merchant's inventory.

however, google is the final arbiter of all policies.
