Need To pause products in Shopping Campaign that are out of stock

Hi

I have a shopping campaign whose products go in and out of stock very quickly so I need to know how to manage this . Is there any script or API that can help me in getting the ads paused in no time for those products that are out of stock.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have you looked into Automatic Item Updates?

a script might be written to simply pause such item ads --
but unfortunately, that would likely violate the rules and
policies with respect to availability and product-listing-ads.

the recommended method to pause out of stock items from the auctions
is to update the availability attribute to out of stock and then resubmit
the data (feed) -- up to four times a day.

the re-upload and processing may take a few hours before items

are removed from the auctions -- depending on the feed size and

many other factors.

if items change too frequently such that four re-uploads
per day cannot keep pace with physical inventory changes,
or changes on the website, then, using the api is required.

yes, there is also the automatic-item-updates feature, if a few items
have high volatility and need to be kept up-to-date before the item
data can be resubmitted -- however, this requires microdata to keep
pace with all physical inventory changes.

if items change too frequently such that the api cannot keep pace with
physical inventory changes, or changes on the website, then, those items
may simply not be a good fit for product-listing-ads and should be removed
altogether -- e.g. auction-sites have this issue and are simply not allowed.

any item submitted that violates the physical in stock inventory or

related website availability policies, are grounds for disapproval --

too many or too frequent disapprovals and trigger a (permanent)

suspension from the program, at any time.

that said, there are other campaign-types and ad-formats
that might be a better fit for advertising such item-offers.

Hi there,

If i update the product availability status on my merchant feed, will it automatically pause ads for those products?

I'm working on Adwords API to pause ads but I couldn't find a way to pause ads by product SKU, let me know if there's a way to do that.

first, this is a rather old thread --

posting a new thread is usually best.

there is no such concept as pausing shopping-ads --
shopping-ads are created on-the-fly by google
based on the submitted product inventory data.

items may be paused or removed from the auctions -- will not show as ads.

to pause or remove items from the shopping-ad auctions there are a few options:
(a) update the availability value to reflect current physical inventory status as
out of stock, (b) delete the item from the merchant-center -- by removing the

item from the feed and resubmitting the feed or issuing an api delete request --

and do not resubmit that item, or (c) use a shopping-campaign inventory-filter.

note that if an item is removed -- never reuse that

item's id value for any other physical inventory item;

the same id should be used if the item is added back.

yes, if a product's availability is set to out of stock in the submitted
product-data, that item will automatically not show in any related ads --
however, google may sometimes take 24-72 hours before an updated item
is fully processed and that item is removed from the shopping-ad auctions.
