Need Help With Products in Feed with Size/Color Attributes

Hello!
I kindly need some here and appreciate the responses!

We just switched from Bigcommerce to 3D Cart recently. We are running into an issue with Google Shopping and product with attributes. EG Shirts with size/color options.

We always used a standard drop down option to select the size and color in Bigcommerce. 3D Cart has that, but states that Google Shopping does not support this. 3D Cart wants me to make all my product options select-able swatches / images OR a radio button. Neither of these options would work for functionality.

What is the solution to this? Now sure why Bigcommerce was OK with it and 3D Cart is not, unless Bigcommerce somehow switched up the data before submitting the feed.

thanks!
Jason

first, you're welcome.

as was previously indicated, how a variant is
selected is rather up to the individual merchant --
e.g. drop-down, list, radio, etc.

in addition, if the optional automatic-item-updates feature
is enabled within the account then, proper microdata must
be used for the exact variant item on the link landing-page.

if a specific e-commerce/shopping-cart vendor requires a specific
selection-type in order for their back-end systems and front-end to
properly function and also conform to all google's (variant) policies
then, that is rather up to the individual e-commerce vendor.

all google indicates is that the variant be preselected --
with the proper item_group_id and variant information,
and the image_link and link landing-page display the
exact, specific, variant being purchased.

preselection, by definition, assumes no user-selection whatsoever;

that is, any selection (radio, drop-down, etc.) would be an override,

by the user, of the preselected (variant) item that was submitted.

otherwise, the best likely course would be to simply

contact the e-commerce support (3d-cart support)

organization directly, for clarification and guidance.

otherwise, a merchant-center product-listing-ads
support specialist at google may be contacted directly.

not preselecting a variant (color, size, pattern, material)
is a violation of the guidelines and can result in items
simply performing poorly in the auctions, removal from
the listings, or a disapproval, at any time.

the typical solutions are:
(a) do not submit such variant items, at all;
(b) have a default on the page that is preselected
and only submit the one, single, preselected variant;
(c) preselect each specific variant and submit each variant
item that is currently in stock -- either via separate link
landing-pages or unique link-landing-pages via separate
url-parameters.
e.g.
http://www.example.com/uk/products/red-10x12-wagon.html
or
http://www.example.com/products/wagon.html?color=red&size=10x12&country=uk

the presentation of selecting variants
is rather up to the individual merchant --
e.g. drop-down, list, radio, etc.

for (c) each variant item must have a valid, identical,
item_group_id value, at least one variant attribute that is
unique among all the submitted variants, and a common
and optional unique part, as a title, that conforms to the
variant policies.

variants that differ by color, pattern, or material are
also required to have separate image_link images that
show the exact variant item -- or cannot be submitted.

clothing apparel items have additional policies,
rules, and guidelines -- especially for variants.

Thank you, but I am not sure this helps. We always have a size and color preselected, so that is not an issue. We are an apparel company, so submitting these to Google is 100% necessary.

My question is... why does Google care if I use a dropdown, radio, or what ever button for variants?
