My Google Merchant Centre is linked to my MMC adwords

Hi,

How can I change the Adwords account linked in Google Merchant Account?

We have a multiclient Merchant Account and it is linked to our MCC Adwords account. Every time I create a new client account, it is linked it to my MCC account. I would like to link each client account to its Adwords account.

generally, wherever the linking was originally done,

any unlinking must also be done -- if the linking was

done before the default-account was converted to

an mcc-account then, check both the main-account

and all client sub-account areas for existing links.

the main dashboard of a merchant-center-multi-client-account
will have an accounts-tab (aggregator dashboard) -- with a list
of (client) account names, websites, and ids -- the aggregated
client-support settings are on that page; which, in this case,
most likely must be unlinked.

the individual client (sub-account) settings are accessed by clicking
on each individual's account-name, under the aggregator-dashboard:
https://www.google.com/merchants/Home?pli=1#aggregatordashboard
note that if the above link gets redirected to a #merchantdashboard
then, that merchant-center-account is a simple, default, account --
not a multi-client-account.

after each sub-account (name) is clicked, a separate dashboard and
settings should be available on the left-hand-side of each sub-account --
then, the individual client can be linked using an appropriate, existing,
customer-id and the account associated with that linked customer-id
will be sent an invitation and the invitation (must be) accepted.

the merchant-center multi-client-account is mainly for handling
a client's retail inventory (feed) data for their linked account --
not for campaigns; the linked-account handles ad campaigns.

a my-client-center for ads will also show a list of clients on the main page --

if you are also handling their ad-campaigns then, any linking is usually done

with their existing, individual, client-account-id -- not the mcc-manager-id;

however, if the client is already handling their own ad-campaigns, using a

separate account, then use that customer's existing customer-id for linking.

otherwise, forum members cannot look into accounts --
if customer-support is already being consulted then,
the best likely course would be to continue working
with the person who is already handling the case.

there are settings for both the controlling
multi-client-account and each sub-account

for the merchant-center.

first, go to the original link, under the main
account's settings, and click the unlink button.

then, each sub-account within the multi-client-account
has a separate settings area; for each sub-account, link
the appropriate client's (my-client-center or individual)

customer-id and save that specific merchant-center

sub-account setting.

then, wait a few hours and re-submit each sub-account feed.

Hi,
thanks but it didn't work. My McCC account looks like a default thing. I tried to unlink it and although I can unlink it, it is the only option I have to link later. I can just add a client adwords account as an another account. The campaign is working ok and everything looks fine. However, I have spoken to a Google Adwords guy who is having a look at it. I will keep you update... it is very odd!

Hi,

Thanks and apologize I didn't explain myself very well. The problem is that my MCC adwords account comes as default in the sub client merchant account, it is the only option the system gives to me (even if I unlink it and try to link it again).

Thanks again for your help though.

that usually indicates the parent-account of the
multi-client-account has already been linked --
which is done mainly for marketplaces, so that
each sub-account inherits the parent-account
link and is then the default for all sub-accounts.

otherwise, the parent-account will need to be unlinked first --
so that each sub-account (setting) can be linked individually.

otherwise, working directly with a support specialist is likely best.
