Since the launch of Shopping Campaigns, we have had many queries about how to view the search terms report and how to add negative keywords to these campaigns.

Frank from the Support Team has put together a few steps to explain the quickest and easiest way to go about this.

Ensure that only the most relevant Search Queries are triggering your Shopping ads by monitoring your Search Terms Report and adding Negative Keywords to your Shopping Campaigns.

The best way to do this in a new Shopping campaign in AdWords is by following the below steps:

  1. Log in to your AdWords account at adwords.google.com.
  2. Go the 'Campaigns' tab and ensure you are viewing 'All Online Campaigns'.
  3. Click on the 'Keywords' tab, and directly below the blue graph, click on the 'Details' button, selecting 'All' under 'Search terms'.
This will generate the Search Terms Report for all of the search queries in all of your campaigns for that particular date range. Now to make sure it's only showing the data from your Shopping Campaign, here's how:

  1. Click on the 'Filter' button, and then click on 'Create Filter'.
  2. Select 'Campaign Name' from the first drop down box and input the name of your Shopping Campaign in the text box provided.
  3. Click the blue  'Apply' button and Voilá!
Review the list of Search Queries that is presented to you. If you identify any search queries you don't want your products to be appearing in the Search Results for, place a tick in the tickbox next to the search term, and then click on the 'Add as Negative Keyword' button at the top of the table.

And there you have it, the easiest way to monitor your Search Terms Report and add Negative Keywords to your Google Shopping Campaign!
