Mixing Free Shipping with Calculated shipping on a feed

Hello,

I have a feed of about 200 products. We are going to offer free shipping on maybe 20 or so products.

As of now we have the shipping weight attribute on our Tab delimited feed, and with our shipping settings, it will calculate ups ground based on weight.

When I add a free shipping option in the settings, google will take the lowest price of the two and put that on all products. I have done some searching in forums and can quite understand the easy way to do this.

thanks

If you only want to offer 20 products with free shipping, I recommend adding it in your tab delimiter feed. As this will overwrite any Google Merchant Settings.

If you want to do it for all products, simply delete any other shipping settings, and create a shipping fee of 0.00

Hope it helps

there are at least two ways to override the default
shipping-settings for a subset of inventory items:

(a) submit a shipping_label attribute for only the subset --
configure a single-rate shipping-label rule in the account;
do not submit shipping or a shipping_label for the remaining items.

(b) submit a shipping attribute for only the subset --
do not submit shipping for the remaining items.

if any two shipping-rates apply to the same item
then, google will always assign the lowest-rate.

Hi. I have the same issue with the original poster above. However, I am using Bigcommerce and they only offer .XML google feeds. I have about 1100 items that are free shipping and 700 that are calculated. I can't seem to modify the .XML file to add attributes. What's the best way to override for free shipping items to display in Google shopping? Thanks

fyi Jeremy, BigCommerce has an app you can install which provides a direct API interface to Google Shopping.  About 6 weeks ago they rev'd it to a 2nd-gen app which works a lot better. So there is a good alternative to the .xml route.
