Merchant Products Not Showing in Google Shopping Campaign

Hi there,

Hoping you can just help tie up a loose end on the Shopping Campaign. Here's what's been done:

1. Product feed submitted successfully in Merchant Centre and most products are 'searchable'

2. product_type, brand,  adwords_grouping, adwords_labels are all set. And all fields are pulling into each individual 'product page' in Merchant centre.

3. Google Shopping Campaign set up with the following parameters

  • Inventory filter set to match 'brand' (Custom Filter)

  • Low Priority

End result is that the products are technically 'findable' but no products are appearing in the Google Shopping Campaign. I've done some searching and checked common pitfalls, but clearly I've missed something somewhere.

Thanks!

Martin

first, the items, images, and website must adhere
to all google's rules and policies; individual items
that are searchable does not necessarily indicate
all is well -- always check the main dashboard, the
entire account, and email, for any messages from
google and check the site's log-files to help verify
that google has crawled the website and images.

yes, a feed may take 24-72 hours or so to be processed
and all items and images crawled -- before being seen
within the (linked) adwords campaign.

be certain the merchant-center account or sub-account is properly linked.

also, why is an inventory-filter being used?

generally, a filter is created to exclude items --
any items that do not match the filter (exactly)
will be excluded from the campaign.

check the feed file within a browser-window and individual items

within the products-tab to be certain that the items (attributes)

will be able to match the filter, exactly.

also, verify that the remaining products that do fit through the filter
are being included in the defined product-group within the (linked)
adwords-account, by clicking on 'view the full list of products' --

generally, only one campain is needed but check any other shopping

campaigns and all other product-groups to be certain that the items

are not being filtered or matched elsewhere in the account.

otherwise, google should likely be contacted so that a person can
look directly into the data-feed, website, images, and both accounts.

If you have uploaded everything correctly to the MC, and there are no product errors stopping them from becoming searchable then they should be accessible in Adwords.

Where are they not "appearing?" so to speak.

It could just be you have not given google the 48 hours to get everything ready.

Heya Abbie,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The products are not appearing in the 'Products' tab of the Adwords Campaign, therefore no impressions are being made yet.

Is 48 pretty standard delay before products start appearing?

This is a new feed and other feeds are filtering into their own separate campaigns, so I am just anxious everything is set up correctly - it's really not obvious on the Shopping interface whether the product filter is set up correctly!
Thanks!

Do the products show up under the "edit" sub diving screen? So in the Product groups tab, if you click the little pencil next to it (not sure if you know this) you can subdivide the group in sections.

If you select Item ID it should show all of your items in the list by ID.

Sorry, in GMC or in Adwords?

Currently in Adwords I have "There are no eligible products for Google Shopping in your linked Merchant Center accounts" in Adwords Products tab.

If it hasn't been 24 hours at least, I'd wait and as I say, if everything was uploaded correctly they should appear Smiley Happy

You should get alerts about any product uploading errors in the GMC account dashboard. So if you don't have any, it is mostly likely just that they haven;t appeared in your adwords account yet! Smiley Happy

If you still have nothing appearing in 24 - 48 hours, check back!

Thanks for this - the products are now showing in Google Adwords - so that's much appreciated. To answer your question:

A filter was used because we have multiple campaigns and I wanted to only have a certain product range in this campaign.

Current situation is:
1. Products are now showing in Google Adwords
2. Products are not being shown in Google Search (i.e. zero impressions)

Thanks for your help so far - one more step and I think we're there!
