Merchant Price verification gets wrong price

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

I have set a product feed and it's working, but some of my products are being refused because of "price incompatibilities".

I have checked the feed price and the product price on my website are the same, even in the microdatas tags, but when Google crawls the product, it finds a old price which have been desactivated since 3 days.

How can this be ? Is this a caching problem ? A feed problem ? A microdata problem ?

For I can see, everything seems alright, but obviously, there's an issue somewhere, but I can't put my finger on...

generally, there should be only one, single, item with a single price,
on the link or mobile_link landing-page and the price submitted must
exactly match the microdata-price, visible-price, and checkout-price --
vat must be included and any sale_price submitted overrides the price.

also, the price must be the same for all users in all locations --
any automated or automatic currency conversion on a site
is generally not allowed and may trigger such price issues.

microdata used must both (a) pass google's structed-data testing-tool
and (b) adhere to all google-shopping rules, specifications, and policies.

there are many other issues that may trigger this same message --
such as updating the website with a delay in feed processing,
not updating microdata in coordination with website changes,
having multiple items on a page, not including vat or including
both vat and non-vat prices, the price not clearly visible on the
landing-page above-the-fold, variant or bulk item-offers without

proper pricing, updating prices too frequently, etc.

the price submitted, the price displayed on the landing-page,

the microdata price, and the default add-to-cart price, must

all match exactly, at all times, for all users, and must all

include vat.

a best-practice is to hand-inspect all submitted data and the website --

having only some items flagged does not mean all other items are ok;

google may simply be flagging examples or samples of the issue.

otherwise, forum-members cannot look into any accounts --
but google may be contacted directly so that a person can
look directly into the submitted-data, account, and website:

The problem is, Google doesn't take the wrong price on the page, it takes a price which doesn't exists anymore.

As I said, the microdatas are set with the right values, the same as on the page and on the feed, but the crawling goes nuts and show wrong values...

Do take into consideration that Google's crawler takes up to 30 days for all pages to be re-crawled.

As you have not given us any specific information, it is going to be a guessing game to give a correct answer on how to resolve your issue. If you like to have a bit more detailed help, please give us more info such as product landing page, data feed info, google warnings (specify data feed or diagnostics), etc...

We are happy to help

I cleared my site's cache and since, the problem seems to be solved, but since I don't know what happened, I'm afraid I'll have it again next time I put temporary prices on my products

I shall give you an example, at least you could see if my code and feed are alright :

Product landing page : https://www.phytoaromatica.com/trousses-cures/301-coffret-soins-visage-bio-sublimant-3760104762125.h...

Feed excerpt :

<g:price><![CDATA[97.4 EUR]]></g:price>
<g:sale_price><![CDATA[87.4 EUR]]></g:sale_price>
<g:sale_price_effective_date><![CDATA[2017-01-09T00:00:00/2017-12-31T00:00:00]]></g:sale_price_effective_date>

The sale price date should be updated to reflect the timezone

2017-01-09T00:00:00+01:00/2017-12-31T00:00:00+01:00

Otherwise it might not start and end at right moment of the day.

Your microdata has a couple of issues

 • You are listing 7 titles, you should change this to 1 title
 • On the website you sell it at 71.17 euro, but the microdata says 87.4. You have to submit the price in the microdata identical to what is listed on the website and in the data feed. You will need to look into the backend on how to make sure you show the correct price.

Hope it helps.

Actually, it's sold 87.4 (I'm from France, and there's 20% VAT), and as said, the problem doesn't occur right now.

I'll have some sale prices tomorrow again, I'll let you know if it occurs again.

I don't understand what titles you talk about. In the microdatas ?

You do know that you have to list your prices as VAT inclusive, as Google Shopping is a consumer marketplace not a B2B.

The first price visible has to be the VAT inclusive price, meaning above any other pricing. Preferable only list VAT inclusive.

View additional guidelines and click on B2B Guidelines in the below article

I recommend contacting your web developer to ask to remove the multiple itemscopes added to different areas. You can verify the product info with the link below.

Hope it helps.
