Merchant Feed - repeating product Title details in Description?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there is any benefit in repeating product details in the first part of the Description, that have already been used in the product's Title value? For example, in the randomly selected ad below, the product description is only showing pretty much the same details as the title, and giving no extra info.

My instinct is that this is a waste of characters that could be giving the searcher additional information about the product, to encourage them to click.

I'd like to recommend to my clients that they shouldn't repeat the info, but I just wanted to check that there wasn't a reason that I haven't thought of.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks, Dids

i believe there is likely no practical benefit --
and more than likely is a waste of ad space.

what might be an additional improvement is to simply

shorten the title and move the most salient information
that describes the physical item succinctly, to the first

few words or so of the description; google uses both

the title and description in a wide variety of contexts

and the most important ad text should be first; since

that will typically be shown to users -- while most of

the remainder mainly exists to help improve an item's

relevancy and overall quality.

the title should simply name the physical item --

the description should describe the physical item --

so users can find exactly what they are seeking

and know exactly what they would be buying in

the most relevant terms possible.
