I have recently become a licenced distributor for Advocare.  Advocare.com provides all it's disrtibutors with there own personal websites for sales.  Our URL is https://www.advocare.com/140447818/MemberHome.aspx.  Advocare states that we can use Google to market and sell our products.  We want to set up Merchant Center and Google shopping for marketing but we don't have acess to the website to use any of the verification in Webmaster tools.  How can we get our website verified so we can use Merchant Center?

Hi David,

Thanks for your question. You may get a better answer in the Google Web Master Forum. They have a entire section on website verification.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Shanea, I tried posting there and the only response was that I would be best posting here. So far it looks like I'm going in circles.

generally, when posting to the webmaster-forums about

verification of a site do not mention the merchant-center
since website verification is handled via webmaster-tools,
not the merchant-center -- only the claim happens within
the merchant-center-account -- otherwise, some posters

may send you back here without realizing this separation.

importantly, the website (domain) can be verified by the owner --

however, a folder (directory) under a domain cannot be verified.
