Item URL has to be unique?

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

I have items on my website that is in the same page with same item name, image, ect, but with different attributes.  For example, A Polo Shirt, with Small, Medium, and Large sizes.

So in this case, I made 3 different items for Small, Medium, and Large that has the same item URL between those three.

Does this make the item disapprove upon being reviewed later? Does the product URL need to be unique?

Hi Saminda

Every item requires its own unique landing page.

However if your items found on this page are variants, you would be required to use the item group ID attribute.

Please see here for more details and ask any questions of you need further assistance.

So if I use item group ID attribute, I can have the same URL in all the items in the product, each won't get disapproved ? Or leave the URL in on first item of the group?

Hi Saminda

Each variant on the landing page should be is possible and at the recommendation of Google (( https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/2700318?hl=en-GB - If a product has variants (colour, size, pattern, material), we strongly recommend that your landing page shows the correct preselected variant corresponding to the product listing.)) have all aspects relating to that product pre-selected.

My advice to you would be to have an individual image for each colour variant (if present) or if you are solely dealing with size options, have the size selected when the visitor lands on your page. This will usually involve a change to the url, with parameters being present, so this will alter the ending of the url placed in the link attribute of your datafeed.

You must also be sure to include any variant as a valid attribute within the feed also (colour, size, etc..)

If you are unsure if your DataFeed is compliant with regulations, then I would highly suggest contacting Google directly and asking for advice from a Google Shopping member of the team. This will avoid any possible disapproval and allow you to start your campaigns off on the right foot.
