Invalid GTIN values

Thread copied from Merchant Center Forum

I am submitting some books and the ISBNs on the books are causing an "Invalid GTIN values" error. The error also says "Please make sure the value is a valid UPC-A (GTIN-12), EAN/JAN (GTIN-13), or GTIN-14.", but these are ISBNs. I now here (https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161?hl=en) that ISBNs are subsets of EANs, but I suppose that's only true of GTIN-13 with ISBN-13. Either way, I've tried ISBN-10, with and without dashes and ISBN 13, without dashes, and nothing is working.

Also from https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161?hl=en, it says there is an isbn attribute, but per https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494?hl=en&ref_topic=2473824, there is no mention of an isbn attribute.

https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161?hl=en also states that I can include both ISBN and UPC, but since I don't see an ISBN or UPC attribute, I'm not sure how I would do that.

Thanks.

currently, there is only gtin
https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494#gtin

gtin should accept a valid isbn-10, isbn-13, ean, jan, or upc value.

dashes and spaces are generally not allowed -- only digits.

be certain to always check the feed within a browser window to
verify there are no symbols, quotation-marks, or extra spaces;
also, verify that any leading zeros exist in the uploaded feed --
some programs may add quotes or remove leading-zeros simply by
re-saving the file.

google just accepted the following gtin (isbn) values in a feed.
9780679747048
9780738201665

be certain that the value is valid for global-trade and has
been assigned by the brand-manufacturer or publisher
to the exact item being sold and shipped -- for example,
check the (isbn) bar-code stamped directly on the item.

otherwise, forum members can mainly offer suggestions and possibilities
based on the information that is posted here within the public forums --
for example, the exact value being flagged, or using the download-feed
link to attach the downloaded file here in the public forums, along with
a screen-capture of the exact errors being seen.

otherwise, google may be contacted here --
