Image problems in Merchant Center Diagnostics were fixed weeks ago, still showing as invalid

I have a product which is showing "Unexpected image processing error" in the Merchant Center Diagnostics.  The problem was that the image was actually a TIF file saved with a JPG extension.  I fixed it weeks ago, but the errors are still showing.  It's now April 4, and the product page was last crawled Feb 29.  Is there any way to force or at least request the product page to be crawled again so that Google will see that the errors have been fixed?

simply change the file's name altogether; e.g.
http://www.example.com/images/shoe123.jpg
to

http://www.example.com/images/shoe123-04-2016.jpg

or, add a random url-parameter to the end of the file; e.g.
http://www.example.com/images/shoe123.jpg?updated=042016

then, resubmit the feed and wait 24-72 hours or so --
be certain that googlebot-image can crawl the files
and check the server's log files for googlebot-image.

otherwise, google may sometimes take
many months to re-crawl all item images.
