How to reactivate an expired merchant promotion?

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hello,

I was running a promotion through Google Merchant Center. It is now expired and hence not visible on Google. I want to restart the promotion. What should I do?

a new merchant-promotions feed must be
submitted if the promotions have expired.

a merchant-promotions feed is not the same as
a products-feed -- a merchant-promotions feed
cannot be re-fetched -- there is no such concept.

there should be no issue with both expired
and visible promotions -- these are merely
historical data; but a merchant-promotions
support specialist may be contacted directly --

Resubmit the Feed through Google Merchant Center. Your feed lasts 30 days from the last time it was "Fetched or grabbed or submitted".

So you need to re-submit your feed to make it active.
You can do it manually by uploading a file.
You can fetch the old feed again if the feed is on your site or on google docs and has already set up by file name and location of feed.

You should also set up a Schedule to fetch your feed automatically so that it doesn't expire in the future.

Thanks, Eric, When I click on "Fetch Now", it gives an error like the feed has already been reviewed so it can't be fetched again. For now, I created a duplicate promotion with new dates and re-uploaded the feed, it's working fine now. But I have now two same promotions listed in the PROMOTIONS tab, one is expired, one is visible. I hope this doesn't get me into trouble in the future. Any thoughts? [image: Inline image 1]

Danish,
The expired one will not give you issues- as long as the same ID's were used from the expired and the new feed you just submitted. You can delete the expired feed as that is no longer valid. ( your image didn't come through so I can only assume it looks like the normal issue) I ran into an similar issue last month.

It seems like there is an issue with your original feed. Were there expiration dates set as an attribute?

Most users set feeds as scheduled to fetch daily in the early morning just after midnight time frames. that way the expiration date of the feed is always 30 day from the last time it was uploaded. You can set feeds daily, weekly, monthly but daily or weekly is the preferred method,

If your products are pretty much the same, and you don't run out of inventory, or your feed is created from a cart that has inventory controls, then you are good to go with a scheduled daily fetch.

I didn't upload a new feed, I merely edited the same feed with new data (not sure if that is correct). The two things I changed the promotion ID and promotion effective dates...This is what the dates are like on my current feed.

thanks for the link, I already used that troubleshooter but didn't find what I was looking for. Is there no way now to contact Google support directly through call or live chat?

first, you're welcome.

the same feed should be reusable if a new
set of promotions are being submitted.

there is no specific contact for such specific issues.

simply fill-out the form and indicate the
issue details within the question area --

Thanks, Celebird...that cleared my question.

I hope they provide the some form of direct communication just like they do for Adwords.
