How do I create generic vs branded groups correctly?

Hi there

I would like to segment my shopping campaign, my generic terms are not converting as well as my branded terms, so I'd like to bid lower my bids on them.

I have generic terms in one product group and branded terms in another.

I have added all the branded terms as negatives to my generic product group, however there are tonnes of generic terms so I don't know that I can effectively add all of these into my branded product group.

So I was wondering how I would ensure that my branded product group doesn't trigger generic terms?

Thanks

Campaign 1 Priority High > Add branded words a negative keywords

Campaign 2 Priority Medium > all your branded search terms will end up here.

Hope it helps.

OK I have figured out that I need to a set a higher campaign priority for my generic adgroup.

However I think I may have set this up incorrectly, do I need to set up two shopping campaigns or can I have one campaign and just two adgroups with different priorities?

Thanks
