How can we use Google Shopping when prices do not include VAT?

The prices on our website do not include VAT. All transactions in our market are B2B and nobody pays VAT. None of our competitor sites show VAT. So how can we use Google Shopping?

  • If we show prices in Google Shopping which include VAT, they will not match with the site;
  • If we match the prices in Google Shopping with the site, they will not include VAT.

In either case, we will be disapproved. So what is the solution?

google-shopping product-listing-ads are mainly
for retail merchants selling retail products --
direct to consumer shipping is also required.

generally, the price submitted, the price displayed, and the
default add-to-cart price, must all match exactly at all times.

vat must be included in all prices depending on the target-country.

of course, google is the final arbiter of all rules and policies --
a shopping-campaign, product-listing-ad, support-specialist
may be contacted for clarification and guidance.

however, there are many other campaign-types
and ad-formats that are available, do not have
such strict policies, and may be a better fit for
advertising certain products or supply-chains --

seeing an item within a product-listing-ad does not necessarily mean that

a person at google has allowed the item or the item is not violating a policy --
potential policy violations by others may be reported directly to google.

I have a customer that has your situation.

The only way to get it to work is to show the price inclusive vat.

The price that the customer pays on the site has to be the first price visible and has to have the same font size or larger.

Google Shopping is a consumer orientated business and does not allow submitting prices excluding vat nor showing only the vat ex on the landing page.

I suggest to add the vat inc price above the vat ex. If you really want to sell on Google Shopping this is the only way forward.
