Google merchant says different price on website to that on feed ?

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hi,

I have a number of items disallowed disapproved on Google Merchant.  When clicking on the error it says :

Diagnostics

Example : Uvex Classic Black Ladies Boot 9482

Item ID : 1099

Sampled at :Jan 06, 2015 16:03:10 UTC

Value in feed : 47.99GBP

Value on website : 69.94GBP

Current status : Disapproved

Input system : Feed Id:

When I check on our website we have the 47.99 display (like the feed and 69.94 is no where).  How do I resolve this problem ?

the best likely course would be to consult with the person
or support organizations who are handling the web-server,

website, shopping-cart, and web-page details.

within the merchant-center be certain there is only one,
single, feed registered for the target-country and the
data within the products-tab matches the site exactly.

but again, the issue is likely within the site itself --
if possible, check how the specific link landing-pages
submitted in the feed are seen using various browsers,

in incognito/private mode, and from various locations

(e.g. by asking others or using a proxy) --

all results should be identical.

Hi Andrew,

This happens if you ever submitted the old price feed which is not actually in sync with your current price of the product listed on the website.

Also, if you updated the feed, I would suggest submitting those particular URLs and their images URLs in Google webmasters Tools so that Google can crawl them.

I would also recommend filling up this form and getting in touch with Technical Department if the updated data feed has been submitted and still the product shows as Disapproved: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/suspended?rd=1#contact=1&ts=6081780

Our product is here :
http://northseaworkwear.com/uvex-classic-black-ladies-boot-9482

We have it listed as 47.99GBP like the feed.

I am still unsure how to fix the problem

that landing-page is currently showing 61.43 euros for me.

be certain that the link landing-page or website
does not adjust price or any other information --
e..g based on where a user is physically located --
and does not require an initial currency selection.

the price and currency within the registered data-feed,
the price and currency on the website link landing-page,
and the price and currency for the default add-to-cart item
during e-commerce checkout, must all match exactly --
at all times, for all users, regardless of browser details
(user-agent) or where the user is located or other factor --
or is otherwise a policy violation and grounds for
disapproval or (permanent) suspension from the
program, at any time.

many e-commerce shopping-carts have a default currency (locale)
that is made semi-permanent after a user selects a currency; this
is also not allowed; the landing-page must be identical for all users.

the most common methods to correct the issue are to either use
a separate link landing-page or domain per target-country or url
parameters to pre-select the appropriate country or currency; e.g.

http://www.example.com/products/toys/wagon-9482?country=GB&color=red

http://www.example.com/products/toys/wagon-9482?currency=USD&color=red

http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/ipad-mini-3-cellular-128g-space-grey/6000189709823

http://www.walmart.com.br/produto/Eletroportateis/Mesa/Arno/360007-Ventilador-Tur-Sil-Maxx-40-220V-S...

also, the price submitted and on the landing-page must include vat --

be certain that if any display information can be changed that the

proper display is pre-selected in the link url submitted to google; e.g.

http://www.example.com/products/toys/wagon-9482?country=GB&vat=included&color=red

for example, if a user selects vat-excluded but later returns to that

same landing-page via google-shopping, the price must include vat.

also, if any variants are being submitted (e.g. size) be certain those

variants are submitted using google's rules and policies for variants --

especially if the variant might effect the price of the submitted item --

e.g. identical item_group_id for all variants in the variant-group,

at least one variant identifier that is unique among all variants in

the variant group (e.g. size), and either a separate lading-page

or a url-paramter that pre-selects the exact variant submitted.

http://www.example.com/products/shoes/shoe-9482?currency=gbp&size=uk5

otherwise, only the default variant on the page should be submitted.

hi,

Our default currency is GBP.  Prices are entered on the back end in GBP and the default currency is set as GBP.

You can see GBP set as the default currency on our back end

Is there anything I can try on Google Merchant ?

Sorry Celebird but you are mistaken on this. Our site is having the same issue where we are getting hundreds of errors for pricing mismatch between feed price and website price. We use Channel Advisor and sync both our Shopify site and Google feed at the exact same time. Our site only displays product prices in USD, all settings in Google Adwords and Shopping are set to USD as well. I consider myself an expert in Google Shopping and have been using this platform for over 7 years. There is definitely an issue with Googlebot crawling the site and returning incorrect data. Would love for a Google to fix this issue because it will result in suspension and lost revenue for potentially weeks.

I just replied on this to Celebird... this is an ongoing issue with Googlebot, can you please read my comment below and investigate. I have a lot of data on this and I believe I can prove that there is an issue on Google's end.

I'm seeing £57.14 incl tax from here in Australia. And I should not be paying UK tax. But that's another issue. I saw the same values from the US so it's hard to match things up with the error values you're getting. Or maybe your prices change that quickly that the merchant bot can't keep up!

the original issue seemed to relate mainly to the

price changing based on the locale of a user or

the currency selected by a user and the website

caching that currency selection regardless of the

link landing-page -- both are disallowed.

the link landing-page must show the same details for all users, regardless
of physical location, ip-address, browser, user-agent, any user-identifiable
information, etc., at all times.

also, if the automatic-item-updates feature is enabled in the account
then, the microdata on the site must conform to all google-shopping
policies -- otherwise, the optional feature should (must) be disabled.

google's crawlers may check for all such related rules and policies.

that said, forum members can mainly offer suggestions based on
the information posted here within the public forums -- we cannot
look into submitted data or any account details.

posting more specific information may allow
others to offer more specific suggestions.

otherwise, a merchant-center product-listing-ads
support specialist may be contacted directly.
