Google Shopping sub-category missing from taxonomy

Hi all,

I'm about to put a Google Shopping campaign live for a client that operates in the fashion niche. One of the outstanding items is to include the Google Product Categories for each of the products offered in the feed.

I downloaded the Taxonomy from Google and I went through the list marking off the categories I wish to appear in, but when I do a Google Shopping search for 'sweaters', I notice the breadcrumb states 'Shirts & Tops › Sweaters & Cardigans'.

I can see Shirts & Tops in the spreadsheet I downloaded, but there is no reference to 'Sweaters & Cardigans' in the sheet.

How do I make sure my products appear in the 'Sweaters & Cardigans' category?

Thank you for your help.

Cormac.

I think this is based of your titles and descriptions. Which means it's automated. As you said there is no taxonomy available to distinguish between tops.
