Google Shopping Price Drop Extension
I've been advised that there are workarounds on how to influence the chance of a Price Drop Ad Extension appearing in our Google Shopping Ads. I would like to test the effectiveness of these Ad Extensions and see what impact they have on our CTR.
Would anybody be able to provide me with some best practices on how we can do this?

the price-drop-extension for product-listing-ads is automated --
there is nothing whatever to set or do within the any accounts.
the price-drop is tracked and calculated by google based on the data submitted.
simply be certain that price and any sale_price attributes,
and the price displayed on the website's link landing-page,
adhere to all google's rules and policies.
for example, be certain that there is only one, single, price
with one item-offer on the landing-page, the price submitted
always matches the displayed price on the landing-page, and
the submitted data is resubmitted immediately after changes
to a price or sale_price for an item-offer.
for example, a sale_price overrides its price, must reflect the price
displayed on the link landing-page, and must be lower than a
previously submitted price to google.
for example, any variants submitted must be submitted per all variant
(detailed-product-attributes and item-groups) rules and policies --
for example, submitted supported-variants should preselect the variant,
must include a variant-attribute with a unique value and an identical
item_group_id value for all items in a variant-group, and must exactly
match the (variant) price on the link landing-page.
