Google Shopping Help

Hoping someone can please help?

I am clearly too stupid for the Google Merchant Centre and am tearing my hair out. I click on help and end up in a help forum where there is no Google Merchant Shopping help forum????

I am now beginning to assume that the Merchant Centre is reserved for advanced technical users - the top 1%, because I thought I knew a little bit about the internet but the Google Merchant Centre has made me feel like a complete and utter moron!

I have setup a feed using Google Product Feed for WooCommerce and used the URL they gave me. I added it into the Merchant Centre but the feed doesn't work.  I viewed the errors and they are useless, generic, unhelpful errors - I go and update the feed to fix what I believe the problem is and then try again - Google Merchant Centre says - You can only upload one feed per hour!!!! So I wait for over an hour and try again .... SAME PROBLEM.... almost the exact same generic, useless error ... I go back and fix it again ... I have to wait another hour ...SAME PROBLEM.... almost the exact same generic, useless error ...

At this rate, I wont be able to fix this feed before Christmas!

Google Merchant Centre has to be the most un-intuitive platform I have ever tried to use in my life... I assume it is designed so that only the most advanced users can use it? Are stupid people's products not worthy of Google?

I am at my wits end!

the google merchant-center and shopping help forum is currently here:
https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-Shopping-and-Merchant/bd-p/google-shopping

these are mainly peer-to-peer community forums;
forum-members cannot look into any accounts --

posting more specific information about the errors,
such as specific screen-captures of what is being
seen, specific messages, the specific website url,
exactly what was tried to fix the errors, etc., here

in the public forums, may allow forum-members

to offer more specific suggestions.

otherwise, the best likely course would be
to contact woocommmere support directly:
https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/

otherwise, google may be contacted directly:
https://support.google.com/merchants/contactflow

as an aside, feedback about the unintuitive platform

design may also be submitted directly to google:

https://support.google.com/adwords/contact/aw_complaint

Why would you move it to AdWords forum?

It is a Google Merchant Shopping Issue?

Even the forums are too difficult to traverse.

I give up - This is just way to hard.

I guess i'll just do what Google probably wants - pay something they've certified to do it for me?

Hello Shannon, Don't give up, we as community members try to help the best we can.

As you are using a WooCommerce extended plugin (I assume), you need to contact them for any issues. Alternatively find a different plugin or tool to generate the feed.

Yes the learning curve is steep and requires knowledge. You can ask any questions here. As you are having issues with errors and don't know how to solve them.

Please ask them here.

All issues if dealt with can be handled in 1 day. Take a deep breath and lets go throught your errors.

Please go to Google Merchant > Products > Feed and click on the feed you connected. Than click on Download report. Than supply the 1 of each issue here. And we will explain what you need to do.

Hi Shannon,

I create a lot of shopping feeds, and approx half of them are via the official WooCommerce plugin. The plugin usually works very well. However it is rare for a feed to work first time - fixing multiple errors is typical.

If you share the errors here we might have some answers for you.

Hello Shannon

I agree.  Goggle is the most unhelpful company I have come across.

I have 10 products out of 2000 which have been disqualified because they breach Google's guidelines.  I have no idea which of the many general guidelines have been breached and Google's support team cannot and will not tel me.

My products contain many specialised terms which are used in the electronics industry, such as POT, an abbreviation for potentiometer.  All I can assume is that POT is classified as a drug and the listing has been disqualified as a result.  I am guessing this is the case.   Google Merchant Support keep referring me to the general terms and will not manaully review the listing.

I pay Google GBP500 a month for advertising and their service is dreadful.  My ROI on Google AdWords does not justify the cost so I am now thinking I should stop adding to their massive profits.  Google is not the only con man in town.

Hi John,

Your suspicions about POT are a very good guess - that's what I would think as well. Google doesn't always disclose why something isn't working, especially if they can't fix it.

10 products out of 2000 is very good. I've never seen a feed with so few disqualified.

The system isn't perfect but it is the best there is.

If you are losing money, stop advertising. But keep in mind lifetime value of customers if that is applicable.
