Google Shopping Algorithm
Is data quality a factor in Google Shopping's algorithm? Looking at a post from Frederick Vallarys in July 2014 his post talks a lot about feed optimisation. Has there been any updates to this since 2014? Does Google use the same algorithm for the product title and the product descriptions in Shopping as it does in Search? Should you really be optimising your feed data separate to you products on your site. Most feed generators/plug-ins just mirror whats on the site, now whats on the site might work for search, will it always work for Shopping?
Re: Google Shopping Algorithm
Having poor titles, will have a negative effect. I recommend creating titles that perfectly describe your products to ensure search terms are triggered correctly.
Along side the title, adding and improving other attributes are equally as important, such as variant attributes. As in most categories Google suggest filters which mostly only work if you have added the correct attributes.
I recommend searching for more articles online as there are a ton out there. Read a couple on certain subjects to ensure you have a broad scope of information.
Some feed generators allow you to edit the titles after importing, and allow you to keep the updated title to ensure you can increase your ranking optimization. Alongside that there are also tools that improve the ranking and results. Simply search on Google and I'm sure you will find allot of info, tools, tutorials and videos.
Hope it helps.
