Google Merchant Reviews - extremely poor uptake of responses

I have an ecommerce website that shows the "Google Merchant Reviews" opt-in popup on the checkout confirmation page.

Problem is, VERY few of my customers have submitted a review: https://imgur.com/a/QE9E1 I must have in the region of 30 - 100 transactions every day.

I do send my customers an email one week after purchase, asking them to leave a separate review on our google profile. We've had 40 reviews in about 4 weeks, much, much better uptake.

Is there anyway to customise the email our customers receive?

Is there any way to generate a URL that asks people to leave a review that will add to our star rating?

the short answer is no.

 

modifying any of the google-customer-reviews details, such as the email,
or asking for reviews outside of the published documentation, is generally
a policy violation and grounds for removal from the program, at any time.
