Google Merchant - Extract Color, Name Conflict

We have a Google Merchant account and are using a rule to extract the color from the product title. A couple of the color options however are causing conflicts, they are:

Western Brown

Brown

If I list 'Western Brown' only, everything is approved but the 8 'Brown' items. If I add 'Brown' to the list too, all the 'Western Brown' and 'Brown' items are rejected because it doesn't like the 2 names. From what I can tell, it pulls 'Brown' rather than the whole word and tries to change all 'Western Brown' to 'Brown, Western Brown' as it picks up the 'Brown' from the name, too. Is there anyway around this?

What you can do is change the color value in the data feed and not use the if else rules in Google Merchant.

Or use supplement feeds to add the color data.

Thanks for your reply! There's a lot of products, so using a supplement feed might be the better option. Thanks!

It sounds like the rule you are trying to create in Google Merchant Center Feed Rules is too complex, and may need to use a feed platform or you can try to solve it supplemental feeds.
