The badge is showing on our site which would indicate everything is working right. But in Merchant Center there is a message that concerns me reading, "Google Customer Reviews hasn’t collected data from your website. Make sure you’ve completed the opt-in integration steps. Note: It may take a few days for your data to appear." Do I need to do anything?

HI Marjori,

If the badge is appearing correctly, everything should be okay. The message should be simply stating that it hasn't collected any data lately, which could be from a low level of activity by consumers. You can use this FAQ for the program and dial in to the website integration to verify your steps, if you wish. Or you can just give it a few weeks and see what happens.

Kind Regards,

James

Hi James,

I've setup everything correctly on my site as well and I had that message come up for the first few days. It has since disappeared and now there is still no data. I tested it on my end and I have received the opt-in prompt as well as the email a few days later to the survey yet a week has passed and still empty.

I have been told that customer reviews only works when you have product feeds in the merchant center but I don't have any as I sell a product hire service not a product to own. I doubt this is the case but I hope you can clear things up for me as the support has been horrible and if anything they have mocked me due to my questions that remain unanswered. I have also been told in order to have customer reviews appear I need to use a third party review site not google as that means i won't need to use merchant center.

This seems like a really huge issue for me as and I can't believe that this is the response and solutions I am getting.

Thanks.

google-customer-reviews is only one of many methods and
sources that may be used to accumulate ratings/reviews.

third-party review-partners may also be used.

both google-customer-reviews and third-party-sources of ratings/reviews
data are collected by google and displayed under google-shopping domains.

google-customer-reviews does require a merchant-center-account --
however, there is no requirement to sell any physical-good and the
google-customer-reviews-program does not require any product-feed.

google-customer-reviews requires the website-domain to be verified under
the google-search-console and claimed under the merchant-center-account --
the website's checkout-flow must include an order-confirmation-page and
an an estimated-delivery-date when a customer can expect the good or the
service to be delivered/consumed.

details are currently here:

this is mainly a peer-to-peer forum; forum-members cannot look into

any accounts and forum-members can mainly offer suggestions based

on specific details posted here within the public-forum -- if there are

questions or issues related to the google-customer-reviews-program,

then google may be contacted directly here:

Thank you for clearing that up. To be clear that is what i understood as well and as i stated, when i test the site i receive the survey opt-in, i accept and a few days later i receive the survey.. so to me i think its working. The merchant center customer review overview though does not show any data.

I have verified the domain, i have a confirmation page, and est delivery and with all this i am told by google support (who were rude and not knowledgeable) that i need a product feed and that i need to sell actual products. This is becoming a joke and i dont know if its me or them.

first, you're welcome.

for clarification and questions related to the
google-customer-reviews-program, the best

likely course would be to contact google by

using the following form --
https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/gcr_merchant_contact

otherwise, as to google-customer-service for this specific area --
asking for a google-customer-reviews-program support-specialist

sometimes helps.

as to google-support being rude and unknowledgeable
in the recent past, the best likely course would be to
lodge a formal complaint against customer-service,
directly with google --

Hi Moey,

Sorry to hear that your experience with support was less than desirable. If you would like, you can report your experience with this interactive web form. By doing so, you will help AdWords understand what the support team is doing.

With that said, it looks like Celebird has provided you some truly great information and resources. Celebird is our most-experienced expert with the shopping/merchant system, so I am not sure what I can offer to you on this. I can say that I have carefully reviewed both of your replies and would add that there are a few different review systems and a few different ways to collect and show reviews. This can cause some confusion for all and it may be adding to your frustration with trying to move forward.

To expand... to use Google Shopping ads via the Merchant Center, you have to sell a product via a feed. This system brings a lot of features and resources to those that sell a product. One of those features is the seller ratings. This is only open to Merchant Center users with a feed and other requirements met. Please review Seller Ratings for Google Shopping.

There is also Google Reviews, which is a service of Google My Business. This is offered for all businesses (for free) that are indexed in the Google SERPs (search engine result pages). This is open to all. Please review Get Reviews on Google.

And there is seller ratings which is an expansion of Google Reviews... but not precisely the same as Selling Ratings for Google Shopping. These reviews are powered by surveys, third parties and Google. This review system enhances a AdWords campaign/ads. Please review About Seller Ratings and Consumer Reviews.

Again, Celebird is our expert with these systems... and I one of the great people I learn from. I hope my reply helps bring all of the information together so that you can resume with your business operations... and jump off the funny train. Smiley Happy

All the Best,

James

google-customer-reviews is a completely separate program
that adds ratings/review data to users' overall seller-ratings --

as was indicated, there are many diverse ratings and reviews

programs and ways for advertisers to help google collect and

display such information to potential customers.

google-customer-reviews does not require participants to sell physical products;
google-customer-reviews does not need any linking to any ad-account.

the google-customer-reviews simply uses the merchant-center to claim
the website and display accumulated data from the customer-reviews --
via the google-customer-reviews-dashboard -- but does not require any

shopping-ads, does not require any physical products to be sold, and
does not require any related product-feed.

there are many multiple programs that use the merchant-center-account;
some are convenience-features for existing shopping-ad merchants, that
do require product (feed) data and linking to the ad-account -- such as
dynamic-remarketing-for-retail -- however, other programs do not.

This sounds similar to my issue, except i am selling products listed in google shopping. I have implemented google customer reviews on my site but they aren't updating. I want to know if something isn't working correctly, because I should have over 1000 opt-ins received, and its only showing 6 on my overview. Would appreciate an expert reply since I am experiencing a surge in sale due to a new product release and want the data collected. Thanks!
