Google Customer Reviews & Your Own Review System Co-Existing

Hi,

Is it possible to use both Google Customer Reviews and your own system for gathering reviews on a website?

Currently there are 100's of customer & product reviews collected through the website and displayed on the website which generates rich snippets in Google.

If we moved to use GCR what effect would that have on current reviews on the website.

Can GCR and your own website functionality for collecting reviews co-exists.

For instance is there a way to show GCR 50% of the time, or turn if off an off for certain periods, and is there any policy violations that this would breach.

thank you.

Only seller reviews by 3 parties approved by Google are counted.

Hi, I'm not sure if I got my message across.

There are currently 1000's of review on the site, generated by through the site itself, not through a 3 party review site.

If we started to use Google Customer Reviews, would we have to start again, possibly ditching our own reviews.

Or could we collect GC Reviews and also collect our own reviews.

For instance could we use a bit of code that runs GC Reviews 50% of the time after a purchase, and for the other 50% they are sent a follow up email through the sites own functionality.

This way we'd be able to try and generate seller ratings that would show in Google shopping and search, and at the same time have reviews that are 'belong' to us rather than generated through Google or a 3 party system.

Is that possible?

Again, as I mentioned only reviews by approved 3 rd parties or by Google itself are counted. If the review was not submitted through the process Google has set, it would not be considered/ counted.

generally, google-customer-reviews can coexist

with third-party review-systems -- there should

be no specific violation or technical issue with

having multiple such systems on a site.

as was indicated, the other reviews will not count

toward seller-ratings-extensions, unless the system

is already on google's approved list.

that said, google is the final arbiter of all policies --

for google-customer-reviews questions google may

be contacted directly:

Thank you Celebrid.

@MosheTLV I'm was aware that I won't get seller ratings for my own system.

One of the ways I thought of was to enable and collect Google Customer Reviews for 1 month, then pause GCR and use my own system to get reviews the following month, and so on.

Or another way would be to write code to show the survey option on the checkout page to 50% of shoppers and use my own system to email the other 50% of shoppers.

first, you're welcome.

any act related to temporarily pausing any part of
google-customer-reviews would likely not be allowed --
except for optional features such as badge-display.

generally, any modifying, whatsoever, or any preventing of the display of all,
or any part, of the google-customer-review services, at any time, is grounds
for a permanent suspension from the program, at any time.

google tends to have rather resolute termination terms, open to either party.
