G.M.C. from product fulfilled by Amazon

The official True Primal website is trueprimal dot com, which is a google-"verified" domain name for my Google Merchant Center account. However the product is fulfilled via Amazon (FBA), so the buy link goes to Amazon. I was told by Google support that this means I would need to google-"verify" the Amazon link for my Google Merchant Center account, but Amazon doesn't allow this.

How then can I register our product in Google Merchant Center?

yes.

product-listing-ads are only available through the google-merchant-center.

product-listing-ads require a list of on-hand physical
inventory to be submitted via the merchant-center.

within the list of inventory (products-feed) a link url is required;
the link submitted must land directly on a product landing-page --
with a single price and a single add-to-cart (add-to-basket) button.

both a shopping-cart and a link to a https/ssl
secure checkout would need to be on the site --
a landing-page with the item, price, and an
add-to-cart button, are generally required.

in essence, the items and website would not
be allowed given the current e-commerce --
as is, amazon would need to claim amazon's
website and submit the amazon-listed item
on behalf of the seller.

otherwise, the best likely course would be to
contact amazon-support directly for possible
alternatives to help advertise the items.

Thanks, so I would have to duplicate a separate cart system and host it entirely on the trueprimal dot com site? It is at least possible to do that in theory, but what a pain that would be for the end user. Instead of just logging in to Amazon, they'd be forced to create a login on my website?

(I'd still want to offer a direct link to Amazon, since that's what almost everyone would want anyway, which would mean the local cart would be completely pointless except to qualify for the google ad.)

The only reason I want to sign up for GMC at all is to be able to buy ads that show up in the "shopping" right-hand side of google with all the other various relevant products for a given search. Is it possible to bypass GMC and still buy ads on the "shopping" panel?

first, you're welcome.

there would not necessarily be any requirement to create a
login on the site; shopping-carts generally do not require
logins and there are many third-party checkout systems --
but yes, both the shopping-cart and the secure checkout
would be separate and apart from the amazon listing.

a shopping-cart and some form of secure-checkout (link)
are required for google-shopping -- product-listing-ads.

as to buying ads --

depending on the (existing landing-page) details there are many
other ad-formats and campaign-types that are available and may
be a better fit for advertising the items:

a support specialist at google may be contacted for guidance --
https://support.google.com/adwords/contactflow
contacting amazon for advertising guidance may also be helpful.

be certain to check all policies with respect to any advertising --
for example, bridge-pages are generally not allowed, regardless
of the ad-format or campaign-type.

I think this explains the problem, but just to be clear, are "Product Listing Ads" only available through "Google Merchant Center"?

Ok, that's certainly unfortunate, and the Google documentation is awful, but a text ad might be worthwhile, thanks.

Hi Celebird, Thanks for the links to the ad formats and campaign types. Good to have that refresher; it gave me an idea for using video ads!
