Hi everyone,

I am working through the errors on the data test feed, have fixed several, but I dont understand what these represent? I am pretty sure I have all the headers that I need and also nothing missing from any cells on the spreadsheet? What is an attribute please, is it one cell or the whole lot of information for one product?

Empty column header - Error

Please make sure all fields in the header row of your feed contain attribute names and there are no extra column delimiters at the end of the line.

and

Too few column delimiters (103 errors)

Your items contain fewer attributes than those specified in the header row. Learn more.
Examples:

Line Nr. 2     3     5     6

7

Hi Elanor S,

For your first issue "Empty column header - Error" - please have a look at your data feed and make sure every column/header in the top row has something in it. Sometimes people have an extra field at the end that they need to delete. Imagine having a spreadsheet with data and not having a title for one of your columns - you need to know what is being represented in this section.

Secondly, you need to make sure that if you have an attribute for a product that you are leaving empty, that you indicate it with an empty space.

Here's what an item would look like with an incorrect number of tabs, using the ⇥ symbol to indicate the tabs:

link ⇥ title ⇥ description ⇥ image link ⇥ price
http://www.example.com ⇥ Aluminum Trivet ⇥ http://www.example.com/image ⇥ 8.99

This item has no description, but is missing an additional tab that should appear between the description attribute (which is blank) and the image link attribute (http://www.example.com/image). The missing tab causes the attributes after the title attribute to contain wrong information. If any attribute is blank for an item, you should still include a tab where the attribute would normally appear. Here's an example with the correct number of tabs included:

link ⇥ title ⇥ description ⇥ image link ⇥ price
http://www.example.com ⇥ Aluminum Trivet ⇥ ⇥ http://www.example.com/image ⇥ 8.99

I hope that helps Eleanor!

Hi Kathleen,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I checked those things and I cannot see anything obvious? There are no extra columns, no blank spaces?

Could it be the ISBN, Could i just use ISBN 13 and not use ISBN10?

I also went through the spread sheet and changed spaces and funny characters and weirdly it brought up more errors, and I am banging my head against the wall now!

Can I upload the .txt file to here and show you?

To protect your privacy I will ask an Online Specialist from the AdWords team to get in touch with you via email and you can send them your data feed. That way, if there is a technical issue they can ask a technical specialist to have a look.

Please keep an eye out for an email.

Kathleen
