Error: Reserved range GTIN

I bought EAN numbers and have assigned them uniquely to our products.

These have been added to our merchant feed, however; we continue to get the error message with a note to "Please make sure that the value is not a reserved code.".

It appears that the Merchants' system is not recognising these as EAN numbers but as some other GTIN.

How can I resolve this issue?

Hello Simon, that is interesting and recommend in this case to contact Google Adwords : https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/7217785?visit_id=1-636165342624915301-3186988252&hl=en&rd=...

And look into manufacturers data feed : https://www.google.com/retail/manufacturer-center/

hope it helps.

Hello, as a merchant you can not simply buy, generate or fabricate EAN's, you need to contact the manufacturer to ask if they have assigned a bar code to there products. If not than you can use a value FALSE to identifier_exists attribute.

Most likely Google has detected that the EAN's you submitted are not real.

I know this is a habit done on Amazon and eBay, but Google requires manufacturer data.

You can also look it up here, by entering the product title.

Hi Emmanual F,

Thanks for your reply.

I am aware that merchants can't assign their own GTIN numbers etc.

We ARE the manufacturers of many of the products we sell - these are the items we've assigned our own EAN numbers to.

For products we list from other manufacturers we use their GTIN numbers.

Maybe the problem is with the supplier of our EAN numbers?

Thanks again.

Cheers
