Duplicate Products in Shopping Campaign

Would it be best practice/a good idea to have a product in more than one Shopping campaign/ad group/product group with different bids?

It feels like it wouldn't be sensible but I wanted to reach out to the experts here.

note that having the same physical inventory item

ending up in more than one shopping-campaign,

for various bidding strategies -- for example, when

implementing campaign-priorities -- is not, in and

of itself, a policy violation; generally, google should

pick only one item-offer, to enter the auctions.

as was indicated, submitting the same physical item, more

than once, using any merchant-center, is a policy violation,

regardless of how the duplicates may be submitted.

only physical inventory items may be submitted -- once;

all submitted data is sent to the same linked ad-account.

as a pure aside, the same physical inventory item may

also be advertised using a different campaign-type or

ad-format -- such as text-ads.

This practice is a violation of the Policy.

I would like to add a different take on this, as the question was a product (1) in multiple campaigns. Which is not a violation as highest bid and or ranking in an ad group or campaign for that 1 product will be the winner of the ad slot.

The only reason you would want to set this up is by using priorities. If you are just splitting it up without any objectives then it is rather pointless.

Learn more about priorities here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6275296

However as was already mentioned if you did mean 1 product listed multiple times in the feed using a different ID, is indeed a violation. And is grounds for suspension.

Hope this helps.
