Disapproved products

I submitted about 1500 products about a week ago from my Shopify site,  and most of them are still "pending".

There are 147 products in a "disapproved" state. For most of these, the error is stated as "Item is missing GTIN information".

  How can I rectify this?

to rectify item-is-missing-gtin-information errors --

(a) carefully inspect the physical item/package for a valid gs1 gtin bar-code;

(b) if the product being sold and shipped has a valid gtin bar-code,
then simply submit the manufacturer's gtin and brand, for that item;

(c) if the product does not not have a valid gs1 gtin bar-code, then

submit identifier_exists set to no  -- and do not submit any brand,
do not submit any gtin, and do not submit any mpn, for that item.

then, resubmit the shopify data to google and wait 72-hours for a re-review.

based on the inspection of the physical item,
the best likely course is to contact shopify --

As we do not know any specifics of each individual platform, plugin or data feed management tool, as there are hundreds of tools out there. The best way to find out is to contact support of the system you are using.

But isn't the setting done within Google Merchant Center?

(The products are from a Shopify site.)

All product information is submitted by a 3rd party, not Google Merchant Center. Google Merchant Center is the processing area, which reads submitted data.

As you are using Shopify (eCommerce platform), you must ask them how to do it.

 

Contact Shopify or ask on the Community how to change this value. There are maybe 50 tools or more just for Shopify alone for submitting data to Google Merchant Center, knowing what to do for each of them is beyond the scope of our abilities.

Ok, but isn't it possible to add a "rule" to the feed within the Merchant Center?

However, wherever possible, always change data at the source, not in Google Merchant Center.

Simply setting identifier exists to no, is not the correct way.

 

Check that the products do not have a barcode, you can check the packaging of the product. Not checking and submitting accurate data is a violation and you will be at risk of a suspension.

 

If the barcode is not on the packaging, then remove brand, mpn and gtin. And set the identifier value to no.
