Hi, I am having problems with my destination url. It works when entered directly into a web browser but when clicked from Google Shopping it doesn't work and just goes to my homepage. The url is http://www.majergolf.co.uk/#!shop/golf-balls/1864958083 Does anyone know how to fix this ? Regards MajerGolf

The header response has nothing to do with what browser is being used. It is generated by the server. The problem is on the server level, not browser.

But for the record I am also using Chrome.

The url you've given returns a 400 error in the header.

HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request =>
Content-Type => text/html; charset=us-ascii
Server => Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0
Date => Thu, 21 Jul 2016 16:51:33 GMT
Connection => close
Content-Length => 324

In fact, every page on your site does this except for the root.  I'm guessing it has something to do with how your AJAX has been setup. Once you get your sub pages to start returning a 200 response, that should solve the issue.

Hi David,

Thanks for your response. I have been using chrome and it doesn't seem to give me an error ? Are you using IE ?

let me clarify my last response.  The pages are definitely loading in the browser, and are working. However, your server is returning the 400 error even though the page loads.  The Adwords system depends on these header responses. That's how it determines if the url you have given is working or not.  It's not using a browser and cannot see what you and I are seeing.

Does that make sense?

I've checked the header for my website, and although it appears to be returning a 200 level response in the header, I'm still getting "destination not working" rejects for my ads - what gives? The website is: https://rhodeislanddiabeteseducators.wildapricot.org/page-18063

the same error message may be due to many different (server-side) issues.

in this particular case, the destination-url-not-working error message
seems to be due to the server blocking a subset of user-agents -- that
is generally not allowed, is a violation of the policies, and grounds for
a disapproval or suspension from the program, at any time.

also, the website/server must respond to all google's crawl
requests with the proper 200/ok response-code, at all times.

the shopping-ad link and mobile_link url's must behave and return
the same response-code and the identical content, regardless of
any user-agent details, ip-address, where the user is physically
located, browser details, or any user-identifiable information.

otherwise, a merchant-center shopping-ads support- specialist may be contacted.

as an aside, since the same error message may have
many different root-causes, a best-practice is to post
the details in a separate thread here in the forums.
