Datefeed - product ID

In reading the instructions and descriptions of each field, it tells me the product ID should be the Part Number (unique), which I have used but the upload doesnt like it, I have ensured there is no leading spaces or white space, removed some dashes that were in the middle of the number, even made up a totally new Part number and it still doesnt like it, Help! has anyone got experience or words of wisdom on how to fix this issue?

the id attribute may be just about any alphanumeric value,
such as an internal sku -- a best-practice is to simply use
a mix of letters and numbers for id; e.g.
abc123us

the id attribute must be unique per item, per target-country.

unique product identifiers (mpn, gtin, brand) are for global-trade
that uniquely identifies an exact item, and ties that specific item
to a specific manufacturer.

all unique product identifiers (global-trade-data) values
must be assigned by a manufacturer -- not a merchant.

mpn, brand, and gtin, must be manufacturer-assigned values.

self-assigned unique-product-identifiers (global-trade-data) are not allowed.

for items without the proper, valid, global-trade-data
google requires that the values not be submitted --
but instead, requires identifier_exists to be submitted
with an exact value of FALSE
