Data feed question

I have recently uploaded a product data feed. i Have no errors and I can see that my feed is currently under review so my ads are not yet showing. In Google Analytics, I can see that benchmark metrics aren’t available for product groups using the Item ID attribute. My feed is using the item ID attribute as I thought that was mandatory although I have no need for it.  My question is, if I remove this attribute and update the feed, will I go back to the beginning waiting for my feed to be reviewed.? It has been a few days and I don't want to go back to square one.

id is required and cannot be removed.

all items are tracked by id -- any missing
or changed id is considered a delete --
and will usually be removed altogether

or go back into a review state.

a unique id per item is required.

generally, never change the id of an item once assigned unless
explicitly indicated to do so by a support person at google.

rather than using simple sequential numbers or similar, a
best-practice is to use internal sku or similar for id values
that have a mix of letters and numbers --
e.g. abc123us, def456us, abc123uk

especially if a spreadsheet is used to create and maintain the feed.

Thank you for that. I am just wondering why in GA it states:

It takes between 1 and 2 days from when an auction takes place for the benchmark data to be reflected in your account. You may not see benchmark CTR data if there aren’t comparable products from other advertisers, or your product group has yet to appear in enough auctions. Also, benchmark metrics aren’t available for product groups using the Item ID attribute.

first, you're welcome.

that statement is in the context of metrics for product-groups
created by assigning bids to groups of items for bid strategies
within the shopping-campaign -- not the feed per se.

a product-group of one item, created using

the item's id, does not apply to such metrics.
