Claiming Clients Websites

I manage several clients PPC campaigns and want to link Webmaster to our Adwords accounts. I've set up a MCC Merchant centre and tried adding their sites, but I am not able to claim them in Merchant centre. Adwords, Webmaster and Google Merchant all share the same email address. However we did not set up all the Webmaster accounts but have been given full access to them. Could this be the reason that I can't claim the site? Is there any way I can claim and link the sites up between Adwords/Webmaster?

Hi There,

You need to have owner access to Webmaster Tools for the same email ID as AdWords to be able to link accounts. Having full access will not help.

For more information, please refer to this help center article

Thanks

Hi Thanks for your help.
Is there any way round this at all as I don't think we want to set up a
second webmaster account in our email address in order for us to access
Webmaster reports in Adwords. Is the only way we can do this for us to be
made "owner" of a clients webmaster account?

Thanks

is the goal to claim the site or
to access reports in adwords
or both?

for the former, alternatively, the client (webmaster owner)
should normally have been given admin access to the
merchant-center (sub) account; if so, simply have the
clients claim their website.

Hi I just want to access the webmaster reports in adwords. The client has already created a webmaster account, but I do not know if they have "claimed them" in google merchant centre or not. Would the client claiming them enable me to view their reports? Or do I need to be the site owner to view these reports in adwords? (I generally have full access to clients webmaster but am not the site owner) thanks for your help Vicky

the claim is only ever needed (once) to submit
inventory data (feeds) in the merchant-center --
the claim has nothing to do with reports.

linking and access-levels relate to reports --
but not in the merchant-center-account.

of course, the claim is indirectly needed for reports since

reports only have data if a feed is submitted by someone,

and the inventory data is needed for product-listing-ads --

but access to reports has nothing to do with a claim.

knowing the specific report may help --

where the linking is needed and which

level of access is required should be

determined by who wants to see the

report and which report is wanted.

details are currently here:

otherwise, the best likely course is to contact a subject-matter
specialist -- with information about exactly which reports need
to be seen, by which person, and their current role -- to verify
exactly what (linking or user access level) steps are required.
