Automatic item disapprovals due to policy violation

We recently removed 238 items that apparently violate some part of Google Shopping Policy. However, there doesn't seem to be a problem with other vendors listing and promoting the same exact items, or items that are very similar. We have a number of products also that we manufacture or that we are the only manufacturer and the items are not allowed. Some of the items in no clear way violate the policy.

Our domain name is insulincase.groupmedicalsupply.com and we sell accessories for diabetics on this site. Google has a diabetic category in its taxonomy yet it is not allowing us to post many items in our store to the feed.

Most of our business is selling leather, vinyl, and nylon carrying cases for people to put their supplies in. For whatever reason, the feed is publishing 63 items under this domain, and these are allowed on Google, so what I want to know, is why it will allow 63 items in the feed but not any of the other items to be published from that store? Also - we had a bag that we put in our feed about a week ago, and on day one we sold one thanks to it being in the feed, then two days later, the item is placed in Disapproved items and we are told it is in violation of the policy when it clearly is just a leather hand bag for putting stuff in and is similar to other items we sell that are approved items.

Hi Eric,

What exactly did the policy violation say?

Sometimes things are flagged up through an automated review. Anything in the medical field (yes, even a leather bag for diabetic supplies) can get picked up easily because Google is very strict on their policies around medication and medical devices.

If you truly feel that there is not an issue with the feed itself (you have met all the requirements) then you may want to reach out to Google directly to have a human look things over. However if the disapproval was due to something wrong with the feed itself then you would need to address that.

We were never made aware of the violation. The fact is we went to the feed to look at what was being disapproved, and found that items that were once fine, were now disapproved or that items we have removed from the feed and republished to the feed are disapproved. A diabetic handbag is neither a medication nor is it a medical device. We have other items that are nearly identical that are currently in the feed, and there seems to be no issues with them publishing to Google Shopping. How do I reach Google directly to address this issue?

I understand that it is not a medication or device. I work with several OTC healthcare companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers and have seen it all in the way of real policy violations or google accidentally catching you through an automated system.

Give Google AdWords a call at 866-2-google they are very helpful for these kinds of issues.

Good luck let us know how it goes!

Kim

Policy violations can be be due to many reasons, as Kim mentions currently Google is having issues with catching and flagging pharmaceutical names.

The only way to fix this is to contact Google directly. However be warned that this will continue to happen to you.

As Google crawls products sporadically meaning, not because you submitted the data means that every element of the product is checked by the automated crawler. So products that are ok half a year ok, might be caught up now.

There are allot of people having the same issue as you, so contacting Google Adwords would be a good idea.
