Are MerchantCenter Product IDs case sensitive?

Hi,

I'm trying to request a product status via the Merchant Center API. It seems that the ProductID is case sensitive, though there is no mention of this on the Products Feed Specification. Is there any way to retrieve a product status in a case insensitive way?

Thanks,

Andrew H

empirically, most all (identifier) attribute values are case-sensitive --
such as the id, item_group_id, and promotion_id attributes; regardless

of any (lack of) documentation.

a best-practice is to use lower-case, alphanumeric, (ascii) text values; e.g.
abc123uk
and keep a local database of all such identifier related information.

there is likely no method to request items case-insensitively;
although, asking within the content-api forum is probably best --
