Adding a new product to a shopping campaign

I know how to go into merchant center and look at diagnostics and make the recommended changes to my feed, although now it seems there is no longer a  "fetch feed" button to refresh your changes, so I guess the system will automatically fetch periodically. Wondering how often...

My primary question right now is very simple, yet I can't seem to figure it out. I'm not sure I understand the relationship between the feed and the information inside of adwords. Right now, my simple question is: How do I add a new item to my google shopping campaign? If I have a couple of shopping campaigns within my adwords account, and if I add a new product to my shopping feed, does it just automatically end up in Adwords interface? How does it know which shopping campaign to go into?

In short, I'm confused about how to simply add a new item to a specific shopping campaign.

Hello,

It depends on your Shopping campaign structure if a new product will be included and promoted automatically or not.

If you use product_type segmentation and you promote the product_type where the product is assigned to, it should be promoted automatically when it gets approved.

If you use SKU segmentation and "Everything else in X" is not excluded, the product should also be included automatically.

If you only target some of your products that are picked manually, you have to add this new product manually as well.

If it is not clear, describe what structure you use or leave a screen here.

Regards,

Hana

(a) if scheduled-fetch is being used, be certain
that a schedule has been configured for the feed.

a schedule must be configured by the merchant --
select schedule -> edit-schedule, or update schedule;

under edit-schedule, there is also an update-and-fetch-now link,
that can be used, even if no schedule detail has been changed.

if no schedule is configured and enabled, google
*will not* automatically fetch any data periodically.

without a configured and enabled schedule, all items
will expire, naturally, and be removed after one month.

(b) all items submitted via the merchant-center, with an
active status, are sent to the same linked ad-account.

then, in the ad-account, items must match a product-group to be assigned a bid;

if an attribute and value within the submitted data (feed) matches a predefined
product-group, then the item is automatically assigned a bid, assuming the item

has not been disapproved and is currently in stock.

product-groups, filters, and priorities, within a shopping-campaign,
are used to create subsets of inventory data, to implement bidding
strategies, for shopping-ads.

attributes within the feed are used to create filters and product-groups.

negative-words may also be used to remove items from specific auctions.

Pefect. Thanks Hana! I was able to find the new "fetch feed" button on the new menu, so that did the trick. I do appreciate the segmentation information, as I did go in there and clean a lot of stuff up and create some new segments that helped a lot. Thanks again.
