API access to account for which you are not admin

When I try to access a Merchant account of which I'm not an admin (someone invited me), I get this error:

User is not an administrator of account xxxxx

I'm using this call in Python:

service.accounts().get(accountId=aid, merchantId=mid)

Any ideas how I can access an account of which I'm not an admin?

the content-api-for-shopping forum is currently here:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/google-content-api-for-shopping

that sounds correct -- admin access

is required for most use-cases when

using the content-api.

be certain that the admin user that is set in the

account is the same user making the api call --

some api calls are made by a service-account;

for example, via a gserviceaccount email.

admin access may be added by the owner of the account:

for clarification, the current status of the api's behavior,

more authoritative answers, and account-specific guidance,

the best likely course is to ask in the content-api forum.

Ok. I will post it there. For me it was all about reading data - no admin activities.

depending on the details, version-2 of the api may still require the
user to be added as an admin, even for read-only access; especially
with respect to a service-account or a multi-client-account.

but yes, the content-api-forum usually offers
more definitive, account-specific, answers for
such api-related issues.
