Targeting based on channel

Hi,

we are evaluating whether optimize is the best option for us to use for AB testing. When evaluating the available information, the tool seems very good. Only thing I have not been able to figure out is whether it is possible to configure tests so that only users arriving via a specific channel are exposed to the test, e.g., only users who arrived at our site by clicking on an Adword campaign are the only ones exposed to the test?

thanks for insights / help.

Hi

There has already been an announcement that Adwords-search specific functionality will be available in Optimize soon. This will let you link your Adwords account with Optimize and let you target specific campaigns, keywords etc, using convenient Adwords specific targeting rules - so keep tuned.

Right now you could target the URL parameters added by Adwords campaigns.

Have a look here about the parameters that are added by Adwords and about settings that you can use to control how much information is passed in your URLs.

Then on the Optimize side, you can use URL parameter rules or URL regexp match rules to target these URLs - have a look at the targeting tab in the experiment page.
