Secondary Data Layer

So, when I joined my current company their datalayer was a complete mess. We are scrapping it and currently working to rebuild a new datalayer and switch from Adobe to Google products.

One of those new tools is optimize. However, I want to ensure that when I go to target items using datalayer variable that it is working. Does optimize default to looking for "datalayer" instead of my new "datalayer2"?

For example, the tutorial code stats the following example:

<script>
dataLayer = [{
'purchaseTotal': 451
}];
</script>

To create a rule targeting the "purchaseTotal" in the data layer, you need to create a custom variable, then build a condition with it.

If my datalayer is called datalayer2 (the original datalayer will remain) is there something that I need to do in the backend to adjust for this change?
