Optimize and Tag Manager

I've read the docs and they are convoluted as usual. Google pushes implementing Analytics through Tag Manager, which we've done. Along comes Optimize and now we're told to implement Analytics outside Tag Manager. We've left Analytics in Tag Manager, added the Optimize/Analytics snippet and get double fires in Analytics.

What is the proper way to implement Optimize with an Analytics tag in Tag Manager?

 I've just tried to implement Optimize through Google Tag Manager and it doesn't seem to be working. I'd like to know the answer to this question as well!

Your answer is found here. Page loads much faster using this technique.

Summary: You simply add the Google Optimize snippets (flicker script + standard optimize script). In the optimize script remove the line:  ga('send', 'pageview');

And that's it!
