Editing the Original Variants in a Multivariate Test

I've already had a look at the Editing the original page in an experiment thread to address inserting code into the original variant of an experiment. To summarize for those who don't want to read through the thread, if one wants to make code edits on the original variant of an experiment, you would create another variant and set the weight on the original variant to zero while implementing changes one wanted on that variant to the variant added. This is not ideal, but is at least a solution for those who need to edit the original variant.

Working on a multivariate experiment at the moment, the option of editing the weight of variants does not seem to be an option. Is there a workaround for this issue? I need to edit the code of my original variants within a multivariate test.
