Location match criteria

Hello,

We have added information of several stores by using the API. We found that several stores are listed in the "Matches-found" section at the following page, which means the newly added data matches data for an existing location in Maps [1].

https://business.google.com/manage/#/list/todo/matches-found

Could you please let us know the criteria of "Matches-found" evaluation. Does it use location name, location address, phone number, something else, or a combination of them? Are there any documentation about the logic of "Matches-found"?

Regards,

Hi @Haguen T,

If your business listing has the “Matches found” status, the data you uploaded for the location matches data for an existing location in Maps. This is analogous to sending a POST request to the :findMatches endpoint via the Google My Business API to find and retrieve all of the possible locations on Google Maps, as indicated by the placeId in the LocationKey, that are a match to the specified location. Keep in mind that the locations.findMatches operation is only valid if the location is unverified.

Thanks,

Terry
