Google API vs manual workflow issues - how to tackle?

Context: location management company for enterprises

  • GMB is missing more hierarchy level --> partner verification
    • This will give Google the ability to have a single point of contact for X enterprises
      • reduce contact moments for g-support
      • improve data quality on partner level

Google API is definitely a benefit is some ways: automatic ingestion/submission, database sync with GMB, automatic bulk verification request, etc. But there are still some issues to be tackled:

  • Still too much manual work;
    • Google Updates
    • Access needed
      • Brand verification --> Access needed. A brand should be able to claim all of their locations if they are willing, due centralized location management and their franchisees as manager.
    • Access requests
    • Randomly: disabled / suspended locations
    • Duplicates: opposite street, 1 brand - different categories, etc.
