How to create a filter to combine 2 pages

Hi All. and thank you for your help!

In my analytics. Behavior --> All pages I have 2 separate pages. with "/" as the difference between them.

1) /products/even-headphones

2) /products/even-headphones/

I would like to combine the data of this lines into one line, I think that using a filter is the way to go in GA.

Can you instruct me on what filter should I use and how to create that ?

Thanks you very much

Tom

Hi :-)

the following regex should work to capture both instances of the url

/products/even-headphones/?

the question mark (?) means the character previous to the question mark (/) is optional

Hi,

If you want to record both as a single instance, you need to set up a filter that will add the trailing slash if it is missing:

http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2015/12/10/basic-google-analytics-filters/#Append Slash to Request URI

As every filter, it will work only for future data from the moment of its implementation.

Hope this helps.

Hi :-)
I misread your post stating you wanted to combine them into a single instance.

What my filter would do, if used in say an include filter placed on a View,

it would filter both instances of the page url into the View but still as individual urls.

Disregard my suggestion and see @Arnold M reply instead.

Thanks :-)

Given that filters do not work on historical data already collected,

1) Are you making sure to adjust the date range at the upper right to only include report data from the day after applying the filter (given that it can often take 24hrs for changes to show in reports) up to and including the current days date - otherwise you will also be including non filtered data so you wont be able to tell if its working or not

2) Are you following best practices and using a test View to test it before applying it to a main reporting View (helps prevent against loss of data if its configured incorrectly)

3) eta - are there any other filters also applied to the View? order of filters does matter and the will function in the order they are applied.

Hi :-))
taking a quick look.. you have Named the filter Remove / in your screenshot.
Looking at the reference page, the filter is does not do that,

it Appends Slash to Request URI
Therefor all Request URIs that did not, show now be having have the slash appended.
It should also be the last filter in the filter order on the Views it is being used on
